Sítio Alma Tropical

Rent a house in the Island of Itaparica

Tairú

What we have to offer you is not a charter trip or a guided tour, where everything is planned and organized. We offer you a chance to live on a tropical island where life is unaffected by tourism, where you can trace your own steps on the beach, make your own plans. Where you can meet the native people, eat at little family restaurants or cook for yourself, relax in a hammock.
If being on the beach is what you want, the only difficulty is choosing. And it only gets better as you peel away the few tourist layers. (what do you mean by this, Pulia? Try And it only gets better as you peel away the few layers of the tourist's "must dos". Or Once you get through doing the few things tourists are told to do, it only gets better. Of course we will help you settle down and show you where you can buy food, take the bus, the ferry to Salvador. We also offer house cleaning and laundry services. We live next door and it’s easy to reach us.
We can also arrange adventures and tours for those who would like to get fast acquainted with our island and Salvador. We can promise that your stay at Sítio Alma Tropical will be a different experience. Even If you are a little curious and an explorer at heart, you will not be disappointed. The amalgamation of cultures, people, and their music make an extraordinary mixture called Brazil. And this mixture is even stronger and colorful in Bahia, the oldest of the Portuguese colonies in the New World. Here, Brazil's African heritage is alive and well, and it thrives amidst recently restored Portuguese colonial buildings protected by Unesco. Bahia's city capital, Salvador, was the glory of colonial Brazil and today is a fascinating city.

That’s what we think!

Our little farm by the ocean is 36.000,00 square meters; it goes from the main road in town all the way to the ocean, where the beach houses are located.
On our land we have a little of everything, from a sliver of untouched jungle, a horse pasture and a beautiful beach.
A chicken coupe, and a pond full of fishes. We have dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, horses and a turtle called Gigi.
Our garden is often visited by humming-birds and small monkeys, best seen early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when you can hear their screeches and spot them fairly easily.
You also have spectacular sunrises at about 5 am right in front of the houses.
Our ambition and goal is to create an environment that is different from the common tourist places, here you can stay at your own house on a little farm by the sea.

Three of our houses are right on the beach and you sleep with the sound of the waves breaking on the sand.
Two of our houses are about 100 meters from the beach in the middle of a green garden and surrounded by an orchard.

The houses have Brazilian standard. The kitchens have refrigerators with a small freezer box, gas stove with oven, a kitchen sink, and basic kitchen utensils. All three houses are divided into 2 spacious apartments that have about 50 square meters. With the exception of one of them which is about 100 square meters. The 50 square meter apartments have two bedrooms with 3 to 5 beds, the larger apartment has 3 bedrooms and about seven beds.

We have no TVs or air conditioners; only the trade wind and fans keep us cool.

The only things you need to bring with you are clothes (not so many), a beach towel for the beach, and a toothbrush.
There is a pair of bed sheets and towels for all our guests in every house.
